W0LED-10 Hardware Lineup as of 5/27/17

Looking back at my blog entries it appears I never did give a hardware lineup for the Winlink Gateway. So, here it goes:

Transceiver: Yaesu FT-1500M (rugged, compact, 55 watt output, standard mini-DIN 6-pin Data port, running with squelch wide open, i.e., no squelch)

Power Supply: Powerwerx SS-30DV (30 amps surge, 25 amps continuous, switcher, compact, two Powerpole connectors front, binding posts rear)

KB5HCD Trimode Houston: HF antenna repaired -back in service

KB5HCD Trimode is fully back in service now that the antenna is repaired. The equipment is upgraded with an Icom 7300 and Dragon and should work better now after I found I had messed up with the filter bandwidths!!
The bands covered are 40-17m using a vertical at 100' AGL

Gateway is in operational testing phase and mapping of access locations via field testing is ongoing. Much thanks to N1XP as mentor to me for this project, professionalism par excellence!

Outstanding Volunteers

The Winlink system is run entirely by volunteers. Those called Gateway Station Sysops, who support and run over a thousand stations around the world, are special. They are essential for providing the radio network that allows us to use Winlink radio email. Without them, there is no Winlink. If you use Winlink radio email, make sure to thank your sysops by sending them an email to their RMSCALLSIGN-at-winlink.org address.You can find their contact information by mousing over their call sign on the RMS List tab here.

Apart from the Gateway Station Sysops and Development Team, there are other volunteers that run e-mail groups and tutorials, manage user accounts, register software, update the network's assets and catalogs, test and debug products, provide training, and independently write software. They all work together to keep the Winlink system running smoothly. Thank you to all the hardworking volunteers, authors and developers who contribute to the Winlink system.
