W7YAM-10 Update to Vara FM V4.0.1

On the morning of 12/05/2020 W7YAM-10 was updated to Vara FM Version 4.0.1.

Tuning of the optimal volumes was not performed as with the local stagnation air advisory in place the strong inversion causing this is greatly attenuating my signals for testing, so values were left at settings used for V3.1.1.

W7OWO-10 Vara FM Modem will be updated today to V4.0.1.

The release of V4.01 is not backwards compatible with Version 3.1.1 of VARA FM. This morning I started to see messages ih my Winlink Express client to update. With this in mind, today (Saturday November 28th) I am rolling out Vara FM V4.0.1 to the RMS Gateway W7OWO-10.

Both W7OWO-10 and W7YAM-10 RMS Packet Stations Have Been Updated to VARA FM v3.0.9

Both RMS Packet stations W7OWO-10 located in Newberg Dundee and W7YAM-10 located on Eola Hills within the Willamette Valley have been Updated to VARA FM v3.0.9 as of 05/20/2020.

Outstanding Volunteers

The Winlink system is run entirely by volunteers. Those called Gateway Station Sysops, who support and run over a thousand stations around the world, are special. They are essential for providing the radio network that allows us to use Winlink radio email. Without them, there is no Winlink. If you use Winlink radio email, make sure to thank your sysops by sending them an email to their RMSCALLSIGN-at-winlink.org address.You can find their contact information by mousing over their call sign on the RMS List tab here.

Apart from the Gateway Station Sysops and Development Team, there are other volunteers that run e-mail groups and tutorials, manage user accounts, register software, update the network's assets and catalogs, test and debug products, provide training, and independently write software. They all work together to keep the Winlink system running smoothly. Thank you to all the hardworking volunteers, authors and developers who contribute to the Winlink system.
