K9LAE 40 Meter HF NODE

With the help of Ed, K9EW, and all of the VERY talented folks that make up the WINLINK Team, I was able to put a 40 meter WINMOR Node on the air. My thanks go to Phil and Neil for the answers to my questions. My node will eventually be 24/7 on 40 meters when all of the bugs are worked out.

K9EW ( 2014-09-02 ) DAY 1

At the urging of Vern, K9LAE, I now have a 2m Packet WL2K gateway up and running on 145.080 MHz.
The current station consists of a Kenwood TM-V71A running 40w to a 6dB gain omnidirectional antenna at 25 feet. The TNC is a Kantronics KPC-3.
The purpose of this station is to provide Winmor service to DuPage County in northeastern Illinois.
I hope to migrate to a more permanent location at the QTH with dedicated equipment in the next week or two. In the meantime, K9EW-10 will be on the air 24/7 using station equipment.
