Teaching Emcomm Awareness to Rescue Academy in Baja CA MX

Myself (N6KZB/XE2) and XE2SI gave a demo of how HF and Winlink can assist in remote areas for communications.
Course leaders are XE2DDA and XE2DDB, rescue instructors, ambulance company owners, and the son XE2DDB is a doctor.

KK7EOC gateway changing call sign to KC7COL

The Columbia County ARES/RACES call sign has been changed. KK7EOC is now KC7COL. The change comes from a desire to have our county abbreviation "COL" as part of the call for easier identification within a list of ARES Oregon county call signs. Our gateway call sign will be KC7COL-10 for VHF packet and KC7COL for Pactor / Winmor effective August 01, 2016. The gateway will otherwise operate as before. Thanks for your patience. KI4WPI Gateway off line until 08/3/2016 due to internet outage

My exede internet modem crashed this weekend and support won't be out to the site to replace the modem until 08/03/2016.

Outstanding Volunteers

The Winlink system is run entirely by volunteers. Those called Gateway Station Sysops, who support and run over a thousand stations around the world, are special. They are essential for providing the radio network that allows us to use Winlink radio email. Without them, there is no Winlink. If you use Winlink radio email, make sure to thank your sysops by sending them an email to their RMSCALLSIGN-at-winlink.org address.You can find their contact information by mousing over their call sign on the RMS List tab here.

Apart from the Gateway Station Sysops and Development Team, there are other volunteers that run e-mail groups and tutorials, manage user accounts, register software, update the network's assets and catalogs, test and debug products, provide training, and independently write software. They all work together to keep the Winlink system running smoothly. Thank you to all the hardworking volunteers, authors and developers who contribute to the Winlink system.
