W7AUX-11 Off the air

Not sure what the issue is yet, will have to travel to the transmitter site.
I know the CPU is not on the network.

VK4YOI going off air for at least 3 weeks

The HF station is developing intermittent issues that should be addressed. To ensure reliability I will take the whole station (FM and HF) off air until the remedial work is completed and testing has been carried out. Apologies for the inconvenience. hope to be back up an running soon. 73 Marty.

HB9AK-14: The WL gateway on mount Titlis (3000 m / 10'000 ' asl) now QRV again on 10 m

Building antennas for the adverse condx you often encounter on high mountains is not a simple task. Since we put up our WL gateway on mount Titlis in Central Switzerland, we experienced a lot of problems with the 10 m wire dipole we have put up there. In wintertime, ice is building up on the wires, and the antenna often did not survive heavy storms. Usually, you have to wait for the warmer season to go there and perform the necessary repair work.

Outstanding Volunteers

The Winlink system is run entirely by volunteers. Those called Gateway Station Sysops, who support and run over a thousand stations around the world, are special. They are essential for providing the radio network that allows us to use Winlink radio email. Without them, there is no Winlink. Apart from the Gateway Station Sysops and Development Team, there are other volunteers that run e-mail groups and tutorials, manage user accounts, register software, update the network's assets and catalogs, test and debug products, provide training, and independently write software.
