VHF W7YAM-12 is Back On The Air After a Multi-Year Hiatus
W7YAM-12 is currently in a burn-in period to validate all works well. Currently co-located with the W7OWO-10 Gateways in CN85LH. After some mowing at the new location and situating the RMS Gateway equipment it will be located within CN85MI at around 1400 feet on Chehalem Ridge. The burn-in location is only 200 feet and surrounded by hills (Chehalem Ridge being one).
At the new location test has show it should have a strong connection with W7GC-11 (145.090), this should open up access to and from the coastal repeaters the W7GC-11 digipeater can connect to. W7YAM-7 will be the VARA FM and eventually Winlink PACKET Digipeater SSID. This is somewhat experimental, frequencies may change to optimize digipeating capabilities within the region.
[Edit]
After several days of 24X7 operation the radio will no longer receive. Transmit works fine, but no reception of signals. Just lots of clicking noise if the squelch is turned down. It was an older used radio.
W7YAM-12 will be off the air until a replacement radio is acquired.
[Edit 2]
A replacement radio has been acquired, so W7YAM-12 is back in burn-in testing mode.
