Who We Are -
We are a group of roughly 1500 Amateur Radio Operators ("Hams") working together (virtually and in-person) to demonstrate, exercise and improve our procedures to pass Emergency Communications message traffic.

We also seek to acquire new skills and capabilities. Our operators are members of an array of Ham Radio emergency communications groups, but members with no affiliation to any group are also welcome.

What We Do -
We conduct weekly or monthly practice drills, sending various ICS and Winlink form messages.
We conduct semi-annual larger-scale drills, based on the skills learned during practice.
Our Goals -

VARA has a free evaluation version A one-time purchase gets you a lifetime individual license. You can use it only with your call sign but you can use it in as many computers and radios as you wish.
There are two types of VARA, one for HF and the other for FM. One subscription gets you both.
You can get VARA here: https://rosmodem.wordpress.com/

Winlink ( Winlink.org ) is the primary tool used to send written information through UHF/VHF and HF radio for the amateur radio community as well as for governments agencies worldwide. For decades, it has allowed hams and emergency response officials to communicate over short or long distances when the internet, cell towers, and other forms of contact are disabled.

It works all over the world, all the time, and requires no infrastructure other than that provided by amateur radio operators themselves. As a result, many emergency planners see Winlink as a crucial backup when all else has failed.

The Winlink has a large library of forms that allow hams to enter information or transmit messages in the specific format needed by whichever agencies are involved in a particular emergency event.

An amateur radio operator is someone who uses equipment at an amateur radio station to engage in two-way personal communications with other amateur operators on radio frequencies assigned to the amateur radio service. Amateur radio operators have been granted an amateur radio license by a governmental regulatory authority after passing an examination on applicable regulations, electronics, radio theory, and radio operation. As a component of their license, amateur radio operators are assigned a call sign that they use to identify themselves during communication.

Amateur radio operators are also known as radio amateurs or hams. The term "ham" is a nickname for amateur radio operators.
