DM0PZ - Gateway in Berlin, Germany

A new Gateway is online near the city center of Berlin.

QRG: 144.9125 MHz, simplex
Locator: JO62WH87
Antenna direction: 135°, south-east
Active modes at the moment: VaraFM, Packet 1k2

Please note the exact frequency, locator and antenna direction mentioned above. The data on APRS, on the RMS maps and in RMS Express' Channel Selection might be inaccurate.

A few things changed since 2021 at DM0PZ:

1. The callsign of the Winlink gateway is now just DM0PZ (Originally is was DM0PZ-10. I've editted this blog post's title accordingly. So, no SSID any more for the Winlink gateway.).
2. The gateway's Service Code is currently not "PUBLIC", so the gateway does not show up on RMS Map, RMS List, in Winlink Express' Channel Selection, ... But it is useable. The gateway's callsign must be entered manually in Winlink Express, that's all.
3. Two digipeaters have been enabled on the same frequency:
DM0PZ-4: Packet Radio 1200 Bd digipeater
DM0PZ-10: VaraFM digipeater

Gateway and digipeaters make use of the same hardware (same location, radio, antenna, soundcard interface, etc.) and software (soundcard modems). So please don't use a digipeater function to connect to the Winlink gateway. That wouldn't work and doesn't make much sense in the current configuration either.

Outstanding Volunteers

The Winlink system is run entirely by volunteers. Those called Gateway Station Sysops, who support and run over a thousand stations around the world, are special. They are essential for providing the radio network that allows us to use Winlink radio email. Without them, there is no Winlink. Apart from the Gateway Station Sysops and Development Team, there are other volunteers that run e-mail groups and tutorials, manage user accounts, register software, update the network's assets and catalogs, test and debug products, provide training, and independently write software. They all work together to keep the Winlink system running smoothly. Thank you to all the hardworking volunteers, authors and developers who contribute to the Winlink system.
