Discovered the one of the pins had a loose pin to pin connection on the 6 pin power connector. I crimped the hollow pin to a smaller diameter and all seems well again. It looked like the connector was positioned where it was putting torque on the connector. I zip tied the cord to the wire shelf so it would stay straight and not have any more torsion on the connecter.
It was discovered the replacement radio failed regularly to auto power on after power restoration after an outage. I was able to discover and fixed the older radio's problem with the cable's fuse attachment. So after several weeks of bench testing it, I deployed it yesterday with what I had originally thought was a failed radio. The sound card was replaced with a DigRig lite, so some tuning at its location from what had been optimized on the work bench.
