Computer died during a high heat warning, replaced with a brick pc that its specs state it to be more heat and cold tolerant.

New YCARES UHF Winlink Gateway at 441.050 in Yamhill County

W7YAM-12 UHF's antenna is located on the rooftop of the Newberg Public Safety Building.

It operates at 441.050 MHz

Supports both VARA FM (Narrow) and Packet.

Digipeats on 441.050 as W7YAM-7

Configured with RMS Relay to become a Post Office if access to the CMS in unavailable.

It is connected to NPSB backup power system.

W7YAM-12 @ 145.090 Has Access to the CMS Again

After 10 months of no Internet at the site, it came back on 6/8. Don't know how long it will last, as it only lasted 5 months last year when the Internet was restored after an 6 month outage. Though prior to that we had several years with minimal outages.

Currently there are plans to relocate this to a site in Newberg. Won't have the advantage of the height from the hill, but will be located at a location that is reported to have a managed Internet source and long term emergency power capabilities.

We need PCB Designer, fabricator and supply chain expertise. We need developers who can move our programs to new platforms and environments, keep pace with internet mail and security standards, and to help innovate for the future. Outstanding Volunteers

The Winlink system is run entirely by volunteers. Those called Gateway Station Sysops, who support and run over a thousand stations around the world, are special. They are essential for providing the radio network that allows us to use Winlink radio email. Without them, there is no Winlink. If you use Winlink radio email, make sure to thank your sysops by sending them an email to their RMSCALLSIGN-at-winlink.org address.You can find their contact information by mousing over their call sign on the RMS List tab here.

Apart from the Gateway Station Sysops and Development Team, there are other volunteers that run e-mail groups and tutorials, manage user accounts, register software, update the network's assets and catalogs, test and debug products, provide training, and independently write software.
