With a longer outage than the replacing PC and one of the UHF radio, W7YAN-10 at Eola Hills is now available. While these are dual mode, they are optimized for VARA FM.
Both share the same RMS Relay, so that means they share a the same Post Office. Messages left in the PO via VHF, can be picked up by the recipient via UHF if desired. Use the frequency that works best for you,
Also since they have RMS, the new Vara FM Post Office Session works along with the new Post Office message type.
Internet outage on the YCARES Chehalem Mountain RMS VHF Gateway has forced it into Post Office Only mode. Messages left there will reside on local storage until the internet is restored, or the addressee connects to that gateway and downloads them.
An alternative at this time, is the Washington County managed UHF N7QQU-10 441.000 MHz – Vara FM gateway located nearby. It supports digipeating and can easily connect to the W7OWO-10 UHF gateway if digipeating is desired.
Complete computer failure on W7YAM-10 UHF. It has been giving me fits the last few months and now refuses to boot.
Strangely the W7YAM-10-VHF no longer recognizes its sound card interface as an active device. Looking at the connections to the USB devices in the Device Manager, I can see the DIGIRIG and its device ID, but not as a active device. Rebooting doesn't resolve the issue.
I will planning a trip for later today to the location and remove the devices to be able to work out the issues on my home workbench.
