After a silent period of several years, (while I was working in Burma), I have re-activated my Winlink RMS server. The new location is in the port city of Ranong in south Thailand, about 200 miles north of my previous QTH on Phuket Island. Ranong is located at the narrowest part of the Malay peninsula between the Indian Ocean and South China Sea, and so good coverage is expected in those regions.
After replacement of an HF rig, the ARDOP port on my Raspberry Pi based RMS, BBS and BPQ Node Stack has been restored. In addition to ARDOP WL2K access on 20M, 30M, 40M and 80M, stations using ARDOP Chat on any of the published frequencies can access the BBS at K6ETA-1 and the BPQ Node with 2M and 1.25M AX-25 ports at K6ETA-7.
Please test the station and contect me at [email protected] if there are any issues.
K7HTZ is providing VARA FM services on 145.700. VARA FM is running on Trimode/Relay with Signalink support to a Kenwood 241a transmitting at 50w. File transfer rate is an impressive 5x that of Packet radio. Hope to see the WDT future integration of VARA FM into RMS Express and something similar to the RMS Packet application on the sysop side.
