K7HTZ ends VARA FM trial

K7HTZ has ended the VARA FM trial. The results were positive, speed 3x+ over Packet 1200. The intent is to re-deploying it as soon as Winlink develops and deploys VARA FM into its client and Sysop software. Sooner the better.

K7HTZ on VARA FM

K7HTZ is providing VARA FM services on 145.700. VARA FM is running on Trimode/Relay with Signalink support to a Kenwood 241a transmitting at 50w. File transfer rate is an impressive 5x that of Packet radio. Hope to see the WDT future integration of VARA FM into RMS Express and something similar to the RMS Packet application on the sysop side.
