Well, it may not be winter, but it appears my one great glorious HF antenna (as opposed to my one big beautiful antenna) appears to have gone to sleep. At the moment, VA7EDG is operating on a smaller, humbler antenna at a lower height so for the moment I expect a very much reduced throughput capability. Will update when I know more.
During the clearing of underbrush in preparation for construction, the feedline for the temporary W7YAM Trimode Station antenna was accidentally severed at its egress from the building. The W7YAM Trimode station at the McMinnville EOC will now be unavailable until construction is complete and a permanent antenna is installed. Expectations are that the W7YAM-11 RMS Packet station may stay in operation.
It was quite a surprise to find the automatic tuner was able to still tune the remaining coax stub on 40 and 20 meters.
