I am currently running RMS Relay for Emcomm testing. It's currently only connected to the internet via satellite. I do run RMS Packet on 2m at 145.010 with 50 watts to an omni antenna. This connects to the LAN to RMS Relay. Since my internet is via satellite, all I need is power to stay connected. During a disaster most infrastructure for internet connections will be down including cell towers. Once the shack is finished I'll have it up 24/7 to start on VHF. The next big project will be a 3 curtain Rombic antenna pointing South. I have 2 acres of grass land to install it on. Starting to gather the necessary hardware. More on that later.

The shack will be on top of the barn I'm building for my horses. Can't sit around all day and play radio. LOL. Once I have more done I'll try to post some pictures with the blog. That's it for now. 73's N9DIX

Outstanding Volunteers

The Winlink system is run entirely by volunteers. Those called Gateway Station Sysops, who support and run over a thousand stations around the world, are special. They are essential for providing the radio network that allows us to use Winlink radio email. Without them, there is no Winlink. If you use Winlink radio email, make sure to thank your sysops by sending them an email to their RMSCALLSIGN-at-winlink.org address.You can find their contact information by mousing over their call sign on the RMS List tab here.

Apart from the Gateway Station Sysops and Development Team, there are other volunteers that run e-mail groups and tutorials, manage user accounts, register software, update the network's assets and catalogs, test and debug products, provide training, and independently write software.
